About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog The Bell County Mama. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ellen Burnett. I am a former high school teacher and coach, currently stay at home mama to our twin boys. I am a God fearing, non bible beating southern girl who loves her family more than they probably know. I have been known to pepper most conversations with sass and my friends tell me they can always count on a straight shot of honesty from me.

In the past three years we got married, bought our first home and welcomed two new babies into the mix. It has been a whirlwind to say the least.

Ben and I both grew up in larger Texas cities and ended up settling in Central Texas around the time we started dating. Ben had his first job out of law school in Killeen and I found a temporary teaching job mid year in Lampasas. When we decided that were doing the forever thing, I landed my second teaching job right around the corner from his office in Killeen. I won't lie it was hard to pull me from the grips of Austin, TX and everything I love about it but those freckles won out. I mean seriously, who wouldn't move to small town america for this face? Since then Ben has moved onto a new job in Temple and I have started managing our little but very full household. It is a crazy beautiful life we live and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have always enjoyed writing as an outlet and this blog is meant to be just that. Somewhere for me to document our life in Belton, chronicle our growing family and really just express myself. I hope you will follow along and in return find something that speaks to you!
